Before and After Photos:
Correction of Implants Under the Muscle
Replaced with Over the Muscle

Return to Before & After Menu

Occasionally in thin women with sub-muscular implants (under the muscle), the muscle will displace the implants downwards (picture on Left). This can be corrected when the implant is removed and placed over the muscle (picture on Right).
This case (above 2 sets) was a revision-- from under the muscle to over the muscle, with improved placement.
Implants under the muscle can also displace upwards, pointing the nipples downwards (picture on Left). This can be corrected when the implant is removed and placed over the muscle (picture on Right).
Implants under the muscle in many cases move to the side, making cleavage in a bra impossible. The picture above on the left illustrates this. The picture on the right shows how the patient can achieve cleavage with over the muscle implants.
Implants under the muscle move unnaturally when the arms are moved or flexed. Both of these pictures illustrate how this phenomenon. Above the muscle implants move naturally the same as a woman with naturally large breasts. Picture at left shows under the muscle implants. The picture on the right shows the same patient "flexing" and the implants moving around unnaturally ("The Implant Dance").
Above: Large implants placed under the muscle may have a "pasted on" look. They don't flow or bounce like natural breasts. You frequently can see the outline of the implants as well as an area in the upper sternum in the center, which is depressed and doesn't blend into the breast.
Above: The implant bounces and flows normally. The sternum (center upper chest) blends into the breasts normally.

This site contains before and after pictures of patients whom Dr. Ellenbogen and/or other surgeons at Beverly Hills Body have operated on at various stages of postoperative healing. These patients gave their permission for you to see their results. In no way does this ensure that your results will be similar to those shown. Due to variations in patients' desires, anatomy, and previous surgery, every result is different. Although all efforts are taken for the hoped for results to materialize, reputable practitioners cannot make guarantees.
